Hi, my name is Ewa-Lotta Warenhed and I live together with Bertil Svensson since 1985.
We have 2 children, Anna born 1986 and Emelie born 1989 and we live in Hallabro, Blekinge. At the moment we have 2 Afghans, 1 Podenco ibicenco and 1 Saluki. |
I got my first dog when I was 10 years old. I got to choose between a chow-chow and a poodle.
I choosed a miniature poodle and named him Ludde. We got 12 years together.
The first time I ever saw a afghan was in the end of the seventies. It was a cabdriver in Ronneby that owner two golden with black masks. They used to lay on the stairs by her house and I saw them when I was going home from school. Then I decided that I should have one. I took about 10 years before my dream came through. We was going to visit relatives to Bertil many miles up in our country. When we arrived a afghan did meet us at the door who I did spend the whole day with. He was black and was called "Kimmen". The breeder of "Kimmen" had at that time puppies and I booked a black one with white markings on the front. I namned him "Affe". He arrived at our house in christmas 1987. The year after that we bought a halfbrother to "Affe", his name was "Chifen" and he was black and tan. He was a strong boy and knew what he wanted. Sadly "Affe" only lived 4 years and died in heartfailure. Bertil was very interested in irish wolfhound while I didn't know anything about them. We started going to shows and have contact to people with wolfhounds to find out as much as possible. Our first bitch "Ticha" came to us in april 1992 and she was adorable. Unfortunately she did have epilepsy and her attacks only get worse and worse before she left us. "Tisha" left us in september 1992 and we missed her very much but she was in a much better place. After that we bought us an irish wolfhoundboy, "Emon", who was brindle with very big paws. I did train obedience with him and we did quite good if I might say so myself. 1993 a new afghanboy came into our lives, "Ferdinand", who was redbrindle. He had the right name since he loved gras and flowers and everything that makes the life worth living for. When "ferdinand" was about 3 years old he did get a afghanboy as a new friend. This boy did need a new home. His name was "Fredde" and he was whitesilver. They become best friends and was together all the time. "Ferdinand" loved shows and if it did rain a little he really showed in the ring. "Fredde" did not like when the judge touched him and liked best to be at home. He rather showed on the lawn for us. In 1997 "Emon" did passed away after have been sick for a while. We missed him a lot and after a few months did a wolfhoundboy move in with us. His name was "Bodd". A gigant that didn't know how to behaive. But he learned after a while. In spring 1999 we did buy our first afghanbitch. Her name was "Queene" and was black and tan. She learned everythin from "Ferdinand". In september the same year did "Shark" move in to us. He was a big black/blue afghanboy. Kinder dog didn't excist. In christmas 1999 we got "Patsy", a blue feminine afghanbitch. We should only have her for a while but she stayed. 22nd of october 2000 was the worse day of our lifes. We was at an unofficial dogshow 60 km from us. The young irish wolfhounds that we owned was with us for socialtraining and the older ones was at home . Then we got a phonecall letting us know that our hous in on fire. Sadly they couldn't save the dogs. It was a very hard time for us and we had to live at my parents house the first time and got lots of support from family and friends who helped us come through this tuff time. From the beginning we had to live in an apartment until we got out in the country again. In august 2001 moved "Suma", a sister to "Queene", and also Ted, a domino afghanboy, in with us. In 2003 we had our first afghanlitter. The mother is our "Patsy" and the sire is Kingsleah True Love. They got 6+1 puppies and "Tattoo", a blue boy with white markings on the front, stayed with us. 2007 we decided to let a podenco ibicenco (rough) move in with us. His name is "Pancho". Our daughter Anna bought his brother "Diego". Our newest edition to our family is a handsome masculine saluki named "Zultan", a tricolor boy. I have heard that the breeder had him still available and we didn't have to think long before going and picking him up. This was in may 2009. |
